The Asia Cup Cricket is to be hosted by Pakistan this year. The Indian cricket team is firm on its decision not to go to Pakistan for the tournament to be held in September. Due to this, there is also a situation of tension in both the cricket boards. According to media reports, an agreement is being made between the two boards that India’s matches can be played at a neutral venue while the rest of the matches are in Pakistan.
Recently, a meeting of the Asian Cricket Council (ACC) was held in this context, in which apart from senior BCCI officials, Pakistan Cricket Board Chairman Najam Sethi attended. According to the report, Pakistan said in this meeting that they will boycott the tournament if they are completely stripped of hosting the Asia Cup.
