Zim vs Sco Highlights: Zimbabwe secure place in T20 World Cup Super-12, thrash Scotland

Hobart: The group matches of the T20 World Cup 2022 are over. The last group match was played between Scotland and Zimbabwe (ZIM vs SCO). Zimbabwe won this match by 5 wickets. Batting first, Scotland scored 132 for 6 wickets. Zimbabwe chased down the target in the 19th over for the loss of 5 wickets. With this win, Zimbabwe has also confirmed its place in the Super-12.

Zimbabwe’s bowling

Zimbabwe did an amazing job with the ball. The team sent the last match hero Michael Jones (4) for Scotland to the pavilion by cheap. Wicketkeeper Cross (1) also could not play a big innings. But Jord Munsey held on to one end. He scored a half-century but could not bat fast. Even in the middle order, none of the team’s batsmen could play freely.

In 20 overs, the team scored 132 runs for 6 wickets. 54 runs came off 51 balls from Munsey’s bat. This innings included 7 fours. McLord scored 25 runs off 26 balls. Zimbabwe won after a poor start

Zimbabwe made it to the Super-12 by finishing at the top of Group B, while Ireland reached the Super-12 after finishing second. Zimbabwe and Ireland both won two out of three.

Chasing the target, Zimbabwe lost their three wickets for just 42 runs but Erwin and Sikandar Raza put on a match-winning 64 for the fourth wicket. When Ervine was dismissed as the fifth batsman, Zimbabwe’s score had reached 119 runs. Milton Shumba scored an unbeaten 11 and Ryan Burle scored an unbeaten nine to give Zimbabwe victory in the 19th over.
