World premiere of ‘Faraj’ held at ‘BFI London Film Festival’, film based on Dhaka terror attack

Produced by Hansal Mehta and directed by Anubhav Sinha, the film ‘Faraj’ remains in the news these days. Now the film had its world premiere in London, in which from the producer director to other members of the film were also involved. Hansal Mehta’s ‘Faraaz’ starring Jahan Kapoor and Aditya Rawal had its world premiere at the prestigious Curzon Cinema in Soho, London. During this the entire hall was full of spectators. Where the film got a lot of appreciation. The film is based on a terrorist attack in Bangladesh in the year 2016.

A 15-minute question-and-answer session was also held during the premiere of the film ‘Faraj’ with the cast of the film, which was moderated by Damon Wise. In which many questions were asked about the film. Like what is the story of casting the real background of the film and standing up to face the grave injustice of ‘Faraj’. There was such tremendous enthusiasm among the people that there was a long queue outside the theaters to get entry.

Overwhelmed by the overwhelming response from the audience, director Hansal Mehta said, “It is a very emotional moment for me because of the hard work and the many challenges we have faced in making this film. I was really proud to be at the BFI London Film Festival. Overwhelmed with the response. The audience had some really tough questions to ask after the screening.”

Producer Anubhav Sinha further added, “Hansal is one of the few filmmakers of today who keep his cinema so realistic and true. ‘Faaraaz’ was a story that needed to be told and Hansal recounted the horrors of that night. The events have been done right. We are very happy that the audience is receiving it with so much love.”

The film ‘Faraj’ is based on the terrorist attack on Holy Artisan Cafe in Bangladesh’s capital Dhaka, in which 22 people were brutally murdered. ‘Faraaz’ is jointly produced under the banners Banaras Media Works, Mahana Films and T-Series. The film stars Jahan Kapoor, Aditya Rawal, Juhi Babbar, Aamir Ali, Palak Lalwani, Sachin Lalwani, Resham Sahni, Jatin Sareen, Ninad Bhatt and Harshal Pawar in pivotal roles.
