When victory is certain, then what is the thrill? When Neeraj Chopra took to the field at the World Athletics Championships on Sunday morning with a javelin, I realized how wrong I was.

On the other hand, Neeraj held Javelin in his hands and here the countrymen sat in front of the TV with their hearts in their palms. Why were everyone’s hearts beating? There were several reasons:
- First, after the Olympics, for the first time in the history of Indian sports, an Indian became a strong contender for a medal in the World Athletics Championships.
- Second, years later, Indian sports enthusiasts have found a star in the form of Neeraj, who is in love with his game Javelin.

- Neeraj’s gold was eclipsed ever since Peters topped the qualifying with a throw of 89.91m and made it to the finals.
- Peters had measured 90 meters six times this season before entering the World Athletics final, while Neeraj is yet to touch the mark.
- In the final of the World Athletics itself, Peters threw over 90 all three times, while Neeraj’s throw was 88.13 meters.

By the way, Peters and Neeraj have been old rivals and have been pitted against each other from the junior category. The two met for the first time at the Junior World Championships in 2016. There Neeraj won the gold with a world record throw, while Peters stayed on the bronze. The two faced off again at the 2018 Gold Coast Commonwealth Games, and Neeraj again struck with gold. When he faced off at the Tokyo Olympics, Peters didn’t even qualify for the final. But in the last six months, Peters has given new heights to his game. Now next month i.e. on 7th of August, Neeraj and Peters will be face to face in the Commonwealth Games being held in Birmingham. If Peters maintains his momentum, then Neeraj will have to be content with silver here as well.

In such a situation, the question has started to arise whether wherever Peters will go against Neeraj, Neeraj will have to work with silver? If someone wants to believe so, but the fans of Neeraj do not agree. He has faith in Neeraj’s arms and his javelin love. No big deal to beat Neeraj Peters in Birmingham itself. The only reason for this is that Neeraj Javelin throws only a few, he creates magic and the magician can do anything.
