Virat Kohli is taking break on break… This statement of Sanjay Manjrekar may offend Rohit-Dravid

Former cricketer Sanjay Manjrekar feels that instead of resting Virat Kohli, he should play as this will help the star batsman get back to his form. Kohli has not scored a century since November 2019. He struggled for runs during this year’s IPL and even failed to contribute much with the bat during the recently concluded tour of England. His recent poor performance has also raised questions about his place in the team.

The 33-year-old batsman has been rested for India’s tour of the West Indies and the upcoming ODI series against Zimbabwe. He said, ‘I think he should have given every possible opportunity, no matter what format Virat gets a break. People are saying that he should take some breaks and he has taken breaks.

He further said- If you look at the last two years, he has not played much international cricket. He may have interacted with Virat Kohli, but my personal view is that the more Virat Kohli plays, the better for him.

He further said, ‘Bhubaneswar Kumar has clearly said that like with a lot of players, when you are going through such a phase, the best way to come out of it is to play the match.’ Noted commentator Manjrekar also cited the example of Bhuvneshwar Kumar, who has made a spectacular comeback and is getting better with each match.
