Former Australia fast bowler Brett Lee has expressed his displeasure with the selectors of the Indian team. He says that fast bowler Umran Malik used to be replaced in this team. He said in an interview, ‘Umran Malik is bowling at a speed of 150 kmph. I mean when you have the best car in the world, and you leave it in the garage, what’s the point of having that car? Umran Malik should have been selected in the Indian team for the World Cup.He further said about Umran, ‘Yes he is still young and immature but bowls at 150 kmph. In Australia, batsmen find it difficult to play the ball at 140 kmph. Umran throws faster than 150.

Umran Malik was a part of Sunrisers Hyderabad in IPL 2022. He played 14 matches for the team. In this he had 22 wickets to his name. Although the batsmen scored about 9 runs per over against him, Umran kept taking wickets. He was the highest wicket-taker Indian fast bowler in the tournament. He was fourth in the list of highest wicket-takers. He has 2 wickets to his name in the three T20 matches he has played for India but has conceded more than 12 runs per over.
