Ranil Wickremesinghe to be Acting President
Sri Lankan Parliament Speaker Mahinda Yapa Abhayawardene said Gotabaya Rajapaksa’s resignation has been accepted. Legal process is being followed. “Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe will serve as caretaker president until a new president is elected,” he said. Parliamentarians have been called tomorrow to elect a new president.
