In the interim order issued by the DGCA, it has been said that in the investigation of incidents reported in SpiceJet flights between April 1 and July 5, 2022, it was found that on several occasions the aircrafts of the airline had to return to their origin or Had to land amidst low security at its destination. During investigation, it was found that this was due to poor internal security arrangements and inadequate maintenance. Due to this, the safety standards of the aircraft had to be compromised.
SpiceJet did not pay its vendors on time
It has also been said by the DGCA that during the economic investigation conducted by the regulator in September 2021, it was found that the vendors whose services are being used by the airline SpiceJet were not paid on time, leading to the need for spares. And other things created a shortage and the operation of the aircraft was affected.
According to the DGCA, following the incidents of disturbances in the recent past, it has been concluded that this is in violation of the provisions of the Aircraft Rules, 1937. In this regard, a show cause notice was issued to SpiceJet on July 5. SpiceJet was also asked to reply in this matter within three weeks.
SpiceJet responded on July 25 to the show-cause released on July 5
The DGCA in its interim order said that the airline responded to the show-cause on July 25. It has been said on his behalf that he is taking steps to prevent untoward incidents. As per the interim order of the DGCA, SpiceJet airline has cut its sanctioned flights by 50 per cent to ensure safe and reliable air travel services based on spot checks, inspections and replies given by the airline.
Half of SpiceJet flights will be banned for eight weeks
This decision of deduction will be applicable for eight weeks after the issuance of the order of DGCA. During these eight weeks, the DGCA will monitor the operations of the airline company, after which a further decision will be taken. Air India to sell three B777-200LR large aircraft
