Sourav Ganguly BCCI: This is an insult to Sourav Ganguly, the rules are in favor so why did the chair go? earthquake in bengal politics

New Delhi: There is an uproar over BCCI chief Sourav Ganguly. Sourav Ganguly, who became the President of the Board of Control for Cricket in India in 2019, is sure to step down. He is almost certain to be replaced by Roger Binny. On the other hand, politics has intensified between the Trinamool Congress and the BJP in West Bengal. TMC has called Dada an insult to step down from the post. They say that if Jay Shah can continue as secretary then why not Ganguly.

ruckus in bengal politics
Trinamool Congress state general secretary and party spokesperson Kunal Ghosh said Ganguly exists as the BCCI president and it is not right for a BJP leader’s son to hold the post of board secretary. He said, ‘Only Sourav Ganguly can answer in this matter. I am not in a position to answer to what extent he is correct in this matter with a political explanation. But there was a time when the BJP tried to spread a message across the region. Sourav Ganguly of West Bengal will soon be in his camp. The message was spread after dinner at a BJP leader’s own residence. Now the BJP gradually faced questions over the message that they tried to spread.

Did not join BJP so this is happening
Trinamool Congress Rajya Sabha member, Dr Shantanu Sen has also issued a Twitter message indicating that Ganguly’s exit from BCCI is probably because he is either from a Trinamool Congress ruled state or because he has not joined the BJP. Let us tell you that after a meeting during the Bengal elections, such news came in the discussion, but Ganguly denied it.

Reply from BJP
Reacting, BJP National Vice President and former state unit chief, Dilip Ghosh said that these are baseless political allegations by the leaders of the ruling party in West Bengal. He said, ‘It is not known that our party had approached Sourav Ganguly. Trinamool Congress is talking unnecessarily on this issue. BJP state spokesperson Samik Bhattacharya said that the BJP has reached this stage at the national level without being dependent on any one person or without any compromise.

TMC’s habit of making such allegations
“It is wrong to claim that unless Sourav Ganguly joins the party, BJP will not be able to build a strong base in West Bengal. In fact, making baseless allegations against BJP has become a habit of Trinamool Congress. But such things will really insult Sourav Ganguly and hurt the sentiments of cricket lovers. Such unnecessary things are not right in the field of sports.

What is the rule to say?
According to the new rule of the Supreme Court – Sourav Ganguly can still stay on the board for 3 years. Actually, the new rule says that anyone can hold any post in the board for 6 years. After that he will have to go on cooling system for 3 years. That is, after the tenure of 6 years, he will be ineligible to appear on the board for the next 3 years. Earlier, the Central Board and State Board were counted for 6 years, but now the State Board is not included in the tenure of 6 years. In this way, on 23 October 2019, Ganguly became the president, while a day later it was announced to become the secretary of Jay Shah.
