Sensex Opening Bell: Flat opening in the market on the first trading day of the week, Sensex at 58311.09, Nifty at 17374.90

On the first trading day of the week in the Indian stock market, the market started flat. Sensex 58311.09, Nifty is trading at the level of 17374.90 points. On Monday (8 August 2022), the first trading day of the week, there were mixed signals from the world markets.

On Friday, a mixed trend was seen in the US markets and Dow Jones closed up 75 points. The Nasdaq lost 0.5 percent. Talking about the Asian markets, a weak trend was seen here. SGX Nifty is down 0.31 per cent. Japan’s Nikkei is also trading down.

Foreign institutional investors bought Rs 1606 crore in cash from the Indian market on Friday, while domestic investors sold Rs 496 crore. Crude oil remains below $95 per barrel. Crude oil is seeing its biggest weekly decline in 27 months. It has dropped to around 14 per cent.
