Sensex Opening Bell: Domestic stock market opened with gains, Sensex jumped 150 points, Nifty crossed 18250

The domestic stock market opened strongly on Wednesday. The Sensex is seen trading at 61,319.90 points with a gain of 134.75 points at 9.20 am in early trade. On the other hand, the Nifty index is trading at 18258.00 points with a strength of 55.20 points.

Amidst the mid-term elections in the US, the stock market is showing good growth. The Dow has jumped 750 points and the Nasdaq by about 150 points in two days. On the other hand, SGX jumps and is trading near 18400. Dow Futures has a weakness of 50 points.

On the other hand, SGX Nifty is also trading strongly. Earlier on Monday, the domestic stock market closed with a sharp rise on Monday. During that time there was a rise of 235 points in the Sensex and it was trading at the level of 61185 points and Nifty was trading at the level of 18202 points. The market was closed on Tuesday on account of Guru Nanak Jayanti.

Rupee strengthens by 49 paise against dollar

The rupee has strengthened by 49 paise to Rs 81.43 against the US dollar in early trade.
