According to information given by news agency ANI, an FIR has been registered against actor Ranveer Singh under sections 292 (sale of obscene books, etc.) 293, 509 of the IPC and sections of the IT Act.

Who complained?

Lalit Shyam, who runs a non-governmental organization (NGO), has lodged an FIR against the actor at Mumbai’s Chembur police station. Lalit has alleged that after seeing such bold pictures of Ranveer Singh, shame will arise in the minds of women. For this reason, he has also demanded to remove bold pictures of Ranveer from Twitter and Instagram.

Can be jailed for five years

According to media reports, there is a provision of imprisonment for 5 years under section 292 of IPC and 3 years under section 293. At the same time, under the IT Act 67A, there can be a punishment of 5 years. That is, if the charges are proved, Ranveer Singh can be sentenced to at least five years.
