AIB Roast Show
Comedy content group AIB organized a live event named ‘AIB Roast’ in Mumbai in December 2014. This was the first comedy show of its kind in India, in which openly abusive and obscene language was used. The panel of the show included Karan Johar, Ranveer Singh, Arjun Kapoor among many others. The show was later uploaded to YouTube. After the show went viral, many social organizations and many stars stood against its language. After which social worker Santosh Dhondkar lodged a complaint. Following the complaint, the Mumbai Police had registered an FIR against the show’s organizer and 14 people including Bollywood celebrities Karan Johar, Arjun Kapoor, Ranveer Singh, Deepika Padukone, Alia Bhatt. The show was also removed from YouTube due to a lot of controversy.

Ranveer did a photoshoot for the Danish clothing company Jack & Jones. In this ad named DontHoldBack, Ranveer was seen carrying a girl on his shoulder. Its hoardings were put up everywhere, on which it was written – ‘Don’t Hold Back. Take Your Work Home.’ Ranveer also faced a lot of criticism because of this advertisement.
