It said that now with the help of QR codes, mandatory declarations of electronic products have been allowed to be declared. Notification regarding new rules has been issued.

For this, the Department of Consumer Affairs has made a second amendment for Legal Metrology (Packaged Commodities). In this, this exemption has been given for one year under Rule 2022.

With these changes, the industry will be able to digitize detailed information with the help of QR codes. This would allow important information to be effectively declared on the label in the package. Other descriptive information can be given to the consumer through QR code.

The purpose of these changes is to use more and more technology for mandatory declarations with the help of QR codes, the manufacturer and packing of the particular item or the complete information of the importer such as its address, generic name, nature of the item, size, type information.
