EPFO had settled 2.88 crore claims in 2021-22. Under this, an amount of Rs 1.04 lakh crore was paid to its members. Similarly, in 2020-21, a total of 2.33 crore customers were paid Rs 91,187 crore as claims. In 2019-20, Rs 70,202 crore was given to members under 1.28 crore claims.
