Pakistan Team For Asia Cup: Pakistan punishes ‘villain’ Hasan Ali of T20 World Cup, thrown out of Asia Cup

Pakistan have picked ‘uncapped’ bowler Naseem Shah in place of in-form pacer Hasan Ali in their squad for the upcoming three-match ODI series against the Netherlands and the Asia Cup to be held in the United Arab Emirates. Pakistani selectors have also retained their top pacer Shaheen Shah Afridi in both the teams, though he missed the second Test in Sri Lanka recently due to injury.

No details were given about his injury but chief selector Muhammad Wasim said Afridi will remain in both teams and will continue to “rehab” under the supervision of the team’s trainer and physio. The Pakistani selectors also ignored batsman Shan Masood’s innings in the Test match in Sri Lanka. Let us tell you that Hasan Ali dropped the catch of Matthew Wade in the semi-final against Australia in the T20 World Cup, due to which Sepp Pakistan lost.

Wasim said, ‘We have made only the necessary changes. Both competitions are important for us, so we have picked our best available players after consulting the captain and the head coach. A training camp for the players will be held from August 6 to 11 in which they will also play two 50-over matches. The ODI series against the Netherlands will be played from August 16 to 21, while the T20 Asia Cup will run from August 27 to September 11.
