After winning the gold in the Olympics, Neeraj returned to the field in June itself.
Neeraj Chopra could not win the gold medal even after breaking the national record. His rival Peters Anderson won the gold medal. The 24-year-old Anderson had the longest throw of 90.31 metres. Anderson has also thrown 93.07 meters this season.
Now the challenge of crossing 90 meters in front of Neeraj
In the World Athletics Championships, Neeraj expected to throw the javelin 90 meters away but he could not do so. In the final, Neeraj gave a tough fight to Anderson Peters. During this, he was also fouled three times. During his six attempts, he achieved distances of 82.39 metres, 86.37 metres, and 88.13 metres. On the other hand, Anderson threw the javelin for a distance of 90.21 meters in his first attempt itself.
In the second attempt also he covered a distance of 90.46. Although he could throw only 87.21 meters in the third and 83.11 meters in the four, but in the last he secured the gold medal by covering a distance of 90.54 meters. In such a situation, Neeraj Chopra will try to give a befitting reply to Anderson’s challenge by throwing javelin to a distance of more than 90 meters in the upcoming competition.
