Navdeep Saini: Not getting a chance in the Indian team, now Navdeep Saini on the path of Rahul Dravid

London: English County Cricket side Kent on Friday announced that they have signed India pacer Navdeep Saini for three matches in the County Championship and five matches in the Royal London Cup. The 29-year-old has represented India in two Tests, eight ODIs and 11 T20 Internationals with two, six and 13 wickets respectively. He was last seen playing for India during the white-ball tour of Sri Lanka last year.

Navdeep Saini plays for Delhi in domestic cricket and represents Rajasthan Royals in IPL 2022. He has become the fifth Indian player after Cheteshwar Pujara (Sussex), Washington Sundar (Lancashire), Krunal Pandya (Warwickshire) and Umesh Yadav (Middlesex) to sign up for the English domestic cricket season in 2022. Kent also said that pacer Saini will wear his favorite shirt number 96 and follow in Rahul Dravid’s footsteps to become the second Indian Test cricketer to play for Kent.

After joining Kent, Saini said, “It is a wonderful opportunity to play county cricket and I am looking forward to give my 100 per cent for Kent.” Kent’s Director of Cricket Paul Downton said, “In a year when wicket-taking has become difficult, we are excited to have Navdeep in our team.” Saini accompanied the Indian team to England as a nets bowler. He took 3/55 in India’s second innings in the four-day first-class warm-up match against Leicestershire, but was not included in the rescheduled fifth Test against England at Edgbaston. .
