Money rained on medalists, Haryana government also gave jobs to medal winners in CWG

Gurugram: Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar on Tuesday presented cash prizes and government jobs to Commonwealth Games medalists (CWG medalists). One and a half crore rupees were given to the gold medal winners, 75 lakhs to the silver medalists and 50 lakhs to the bronze medal winners. 15 lakh was given to those who finished fourth and Rs 7.50 lakh to those who participated in these games.

29 players from Haryana won medals in Birmingham Games, they were awarded a total of Rs 25.80 crore, along with appointment letters were also handed over. This year 42 players from Haryana participated in the Commonwealth Games. Nine members of the bronze medal winning women’s hockey team were from Haryana. Captain Savita Poonia is also from Sirsa in Haryana.
