Maharashtra: Jobs of two engineer friends went into lockdown, started meat venture, sold after two years for 10 crores

A vocational course on meat and poultry was started by a local university. In which the idea was to enter the highly unorganized meat market. Both the young entrepreneurs found this idea strange and initially they did not get any support even from their families.

He invested Rs 25,000 from the savings of his friends on a 100 sq ft space in the neighbourhood. His venture ‘Apatity’ went ahead and now has a turnover of Rs 4 lakh per month. As his business continued to boom, a city-based company, Fabi Corporation, also saw it. Fabi has recently bought a majority stake of 10 crores in this business. The company’s co-founders Keertane and Mhaske will continue with the brand with a smaller stake.

Fabi’s director Fahad Syed said the profit they are working with is 40 percent. Selling meat in Aurangabad is a completely unorganized sector. Syed said the brand name appetite will continue even after the deal.

Syed said that they will also introduce new products. These will include developing an application for placing orders for consumers, revamping a hundred stores over the next three years to ensure the brand’s physical presence, and building a fleet of electric vehicles to deliver orders to the doorstep.

Syed said the brand will generate 2500 direct and indirect jobs in Aurangabad.
