Kabaddi Khiladi Died in Tamil Nadu: A video is going viral on social media in which a kabaddi player falls on his head while performing acrobatics during a temple festival. He is admitted to the hospital, but the doctors could not save him.

Chennai: Vinoth Kumar, a kabaddi player from Tamil Nadu’s Tiruvannamalai district, was performing his acrobatics during a temple festival on August 8, but suffered a neck injury while performing the acrobatics, and was badly injured. After this he was admitted to Arani Taluk Hospital. When there, his condition deteriorated, he was taken to Vellore Medical College Hospital and later to the Government Hospital in Chennai.

He died on the night of 15 August. Dr Shanmugasundaram, a general physician at a private medical college hospital in Chennai, told IANS: “He was injured during an acrobatic accident, due to which he suffered a severe injury to his cervical spine.”

Vinoth Kumar is survived by his wife Sivagami and two sons. In another recent incident, 22-year-old Tamil Nadu Kabaddi player Vimal Raj died of a heart attack in a tournament. Vimal Raj was a second year BSc student in a private college in Salem and was a resident of Kadampuliyur.
