He died on the night of 15 August. Dr Shanmugasundaram, a general physician at a private medical college hospital in Chennai, told IANS: “He was injured during an acrobatic accident, due to which he suffered a severe injury to his cervical spine.”
Vinoth Kumar is survived by his wife Sivagami and two sons. In another recent incident, 22-year-old Tamil Nadu Kabaddi player Vimal Raj died of a heart attack in a tournament. Vimal Raj was a second year BSc student in a private college in Salem and was a resident of Kadampuliyur.
