The official said that the SLC officials have informed that they would like to host the tournament in the UAE or any other country. The Asia Cup is scheduled to be held in Australia in August-September ahead of the T20 World Cup to be held in Australia this year and the ACC is likely to make an announcement in the next few days.
“UAE is not the final alternate venue, there could be another country, India as well as the ACC and Sri Lanka Cricket will first have to talk to Emirates Cricket Board officials for final approval to host the tournament,” the official said.
