Infosys: CEO Salil Parekh said – We do not support moonlighting, those who did this in the last one year were fired

India’s IT giant Infosys on Thursday clarified that it does not support dual employment. Along with this, India’s second largest IT services company Infosys has also said that employees working in addition to the job have been fired from the company in the last 12 months. The company, however, did not disclose the number of employees it has fired for ‘moonlighting’.

We do not support double employment
On Thursday, when Infosys has mentioned its September quarter income. After that, Infosys CEO Salil Parekh made this announcement on Thursday. Salil Parekh said that we do not support double employment. In the last one year, we have fired people who have been found doing ‘moonlighting’.

Significantly, Infosys is one of those companies which have taken a tough stand on ‘moonlighting’. Earlier, recently, IT company Infosys had warned of disciplinary action to employees working in the company along with other jobs. The company had sent a warning message to its employees. In which he clearly said that working in two places or ‘moonlighting’ is not allowed. Any breach of contract will be subject to disciplinary action and may result in termination.

Wipro had disclosed
Earlier last month, Wipro Chairman Rishad Premji had also taken a similar action. While disclosing the number, he had told that his company had shown the way out of about 300 such employees. He had said that there is no place in Wipro for such employees who, while working in Wipro, work for other companies in the IT sector.
