IND Beat WI In 3rd T20: Suryakumar Yadav (76 runs, 44 balls, 8 fours, 4 sixes) defeated West Indies by 7 wickets in the third T20 International match on the basis of a stormy half-century. Batting first, the Windies team had set a target of 165 runs, which India achieved by losing 3 wickets in 19 overs. For that, apart from Suryakumar Yadav, Rishabh Pant scored an unbeaten 33 and Shreyas Iyer played a useful innings of 24 runs. In this way, India has taken a 2-1 lead in the 5-match series.

Injured Rohit Sharma retired hurt for 11 runs
Chasing the target of 165 runs, the start was not good for Team India. Captain Rohit Sharma retired hurt on just 11 runs and returned to the pavilion. He looked troubled with muscle strain. However, after this Suryakumar Yadav and Shreyas Iyer took the lead and took Team India to 105 runs. Akeel Hossain gave the first blow to Iyer by getting him stumped at the hands of Devon Thomas. Iyer scored 24 runs in 27 balls with the help of 2 fours.

Windies innings thrill
Earlier, West Indies scored 164 for 5 with opener Kyle Myers’ half-century. Myers struck a 50-ball 73 with eight fours and four sixes, besides putting on 57 for the first wicket with Brandon King (20) and 50 for the second wicket with captain Nicholas Pooran (23). Bhuvneshwar Kumar was India’s most successful bowler, taking two wickets for 35 runs. Hardik Pandya, while bowling economical, took one wicket for just 19 runs in four overs. Avesh Khan once again proved to be extremely expensive. He conceded 47 runs in three overs while he did not get any success.

Myers’ stormy batting
Rohit Sharma won the toss and decided to bowl first. The West Indies batsmen once again put the charge on fire as Myers hit fours and sixes in successive deliveries in their first and third overs of the innings. Taking an aggressive approach, Myers also hit two fours on Bhuvneshwar and then welcomed Pandya with a six. Myers, along with Brandon King, took the team’s score to 46 runs in the power play. Myrn also hit Ravichandra Ashwin for two fours but Pandya got the 50th T20 International wicket by bowling King (20), who scored a half-century in the second match.

The run-rate in the middle overs between Ashwin and Pandya, but could not stop Myers. Myers completed his half-century in 38 balls with a six on Ashwin. Myers hit two consecutive fours on Avesh in the 14th over while captain Nicholas Pooran also saw the ball from the boundary. Pooran (22) completed the team’s century in the next over with a six on Bhuvneshwar but was caught by wicketkeeper Rishabh Pant in the same over.

Myers hit Bhuvneshwar for his fourth six of the innings but the next ball was waved in the air and caught by Pant. Shimron Hetmyer (20) hit 19 runs in the 19th over with two consecutive sixes on Avesh while Rovman Powell (23) hit Arshdeep for two consecutive fours in the final over. Arshdeep got Powell caught by Hooda while Hetmyer was run out.
