Afridi got irritated after eating the chowka
In 2007, the Pakistan team was on a tour of India. The third match of the ODI series was being played in Kanpur. Gautam Gambhir hits a four off Shahid Afridi’s ball. After this Afridi got irritated. He said something to Gambhir. Gambhir’s elbow was hit by Afridi while trying to run away on the next ball. Gambhir alleged that Afridi came in the middle of taking runs. Where was Gambhir going to calm down after this? Both of them came in front of each other in anger and a heated argument ensued. The umpires intervened and pacified the matter.
2007 world cup final innings
The final match of the 2007 T20 World Cup was played between India and Pakistan. No batsman of the Indian team was able to stay on the crease, but Gautam Gambhir took one end. He played an innings of 75 runs between consecutive wickets falling. India had scored 157 runs in the match i.e. about 50 percent of the runs came off Gambhir’s bat. In the end, India won the match.
Lesson taught to Kamran Akmal in Asia Cup
In the 2010 Asia Cup, Pakistan and India met in Dambulla. Pakistan had scored 267 runs while playing first. In reply, Virender Sehwag and Virat Kohli did not bat for India but Gautam Gambhir stayed at one end. In the 34th over, Kamran Akmal made a strong appeal against Gambhir but the umpire did not give out. After this Akmal said something to Gambhir and after this both of them got into a heated argument. Other players and umpires had to intervene. Gambhir scored the highest 83 runs for India and the team became the winner.
