Ek Villain Returns Review: ‘Ek Villain Returns’ defeated Arjun and John’s overacting, Tara and Disha were also ineffective
Earned only six crores on the first day
Director Mohit Suri has made his new film ‘Ek Villain Returns’ with four such characters in which there is no color of life. Everyone tries to become the villain of their own story and in this affair, the audience watching the film has to face a lot of difficulties in keeping the ends of the story connected. The first day opening of the film ‘Ek Villain Returns’, which was released with a making and promotional cost of around Rs 80 crore, has been only Rs 6 crore according to the initial figures. This figure is not good news for both the hero of the film and its director.
Mohit Suri’s last three films flopped
Mohit Suri’s last three films ‘Malang’, ‘Half Girlfriend’, ‘Hamari Adhuri Kahani’ have been flop films. The film ‘Malang’ (2020) did a business of only Rs 58.99 crore at the ticket window, ‘Half Girlfriend’ (2017) Rs 60.30 crore and ‘Hamari Adhuri Kahani’ (2015) did a business of Rs 34.43 crore only. Mohit’s last hit film is considered to be ‘Ek Villain’ which did a business of Rs 105.62 crore at the box office in 2014. Now if the film ‘Ek Villain Returns’ also does not do a business of at least 80 crores at the box office, then this film will be considered a flop.
John’s ,Batla HouseAll subsequent films failed
John Abraham’s last successful film has also been ‘Batla House’ which was released in the year 2019. All four of his films released after this did not even take the opening of five crore rupees at the box office. John’s previous film ‘Attack Part 1’ (2022) earned a total of Rs 16.13 crore at the ticket window. The total collection of the film ‘Satyamev Jayate’ (2021) stood at Rs 13.26 crore. The film ‘Mumbai Saga’ was released at the time of outbreak of corona infection in the country and earned a total of Rs 16.53 crore at the box office. Apart from this, the film ‘Pagalpanti’ released in 2019 also flopped at the box office earning Rs 33.01 crore.
Arjun Kapoor’s career is also in danger
The running of the film ‘Ek Villain Returns’ is considered very important for Arjun Kapoor. Four of his films released before this line have flopped. Arjun’s film ‘Sandeep Aur Pinky Faraar’, which released in March 2021, earned only Rs 35 lakh. Prior to this, the period drama film ‘Panipat’ (2019) also gasped to earn Rs 34.28 crore at the box office. Arjun’s another film ‘India’s Most Wanted’, released in 2019 itself, could also earn only Rs 11.90 crore.
