Business: Three-fourths of employers are now making digital skills mandatory even in short-term recruitments during the festive season in the country. According to a TeamLease EdTech report, beyond frontline and delivery roles, nearly 76 percent of employers are now requiring technical skills for seasonal roles as well. Employees skilled in digital platforms, warehousing systems and order management based on artificial intelligence (AI) are more likely to get recurring short-term contracts, the report said.
Shantanu Rooj, Founder & CEO, TeamLease EdTech, said, hiring during the festive season is no longer just about filling seats but about finding talented people who can use digital tools, platforms and AI-enabled systems. Given the increased demand during the festive season, employees with digital skills are best placed to take advantage of these opportunities.
According to the report, apart from traditional festive jobs, employers are also hiring prompt engineers, process automation analysts and data marketing executives to manage AI-driven customer engagement and analytics of festive trends. Smaller cities are seeing the fastest growth in digitally enabled hiring. The report is based on a comprehensive survey of 837 employers from various sectors.
