Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam was born on 15 October 1931 in Rameswaram, Tamil Nadu. He was born in a Muslim family of weak economic conditions. His father was a sailor by profession.

Since his father was not very educated, he had suffered a lot from the beginning.

Once he had a friend inside his school, who was the chief priest’s son. Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam, who was sitting on the first bench with the son of the priest, was made to sit behind by the master.
