Who is considered a cricketing idol?
Chennai Super Kings has shared a video on social media. In this, Mahendra Singh Dhoni is telling about his ideal. The former captain has described Sachin Tendulkar as his idol. He said, ‘The cricketing role model for me has always been Sachin Tendulkar. I was just like you and used to watch Sachin Tendulkar batting and wanted to play like him. But then I realized that I can’t play like him. I always wanted to play like him in my heart. He was my cricketing idol in childhood.
Captaincy was given at the behest of Sachin
Mahendra Singh Dhoni got the captaincy of the Indian team in 2007. Rahul Dravid had decided to step down from the captaincy at that time. Then BCCI President Sharad Pawar wanted to make Sachin Tendulkar the captain but Sachin flatly refused. Sachin suggested Dhoni to be made the captain and he got the command of Team India. T20 World Cup 2007 was India’s first tournament under his captaincy and the team won it.
IPL will play in 2023
Mahendra Singh Dhoni will be seen playing in IPL 2023. After last season there was speculation that he might announce his retirement but it did not happen. He will also participate in the tournament in the next season. It is believed that the home ground of Chennai Super Kings can play the last match at the MA Chidambaram Stadium.
