We proudly call our national flag as Tiranga which means three colours. However as we all know that the flag actually consists of four colours. When the British government declared India’s independence on 15 August 1947, the country realized the need for a national flag. On 22 July 1947, the Constituent Assembly adopted the tricolor as the national flag for independent India. Let us know some important things about the tricolor.
