There are few stories of someone who came to Bollywood to become an actor and got help from the established artists there. But, there is such an interesting anecdote related to the life of actor Jitendra. When he was looking for a film in Bollywood, Kaka, the late actor Rajesh Khanna, became his help. He made special preparations for Jitendra’s first screen test. Today we are going to share this very interesting story with you.

Please tell that the real name of Punjab-born actor Jitendra is Ravi Kapoor. Jitendra Kapoor did his high school education in Mumbai with Rajesh Khanna. There was a good friendship between the two. This was the reason why Rajesh Khanna helped Jeetendra a lot in his first screen test. According to the reports, Rajesh Khanna had made Jitendra sit in front of him for the whole day before the screen test and memorized the dialogues.

Actually, Jitendra met director V Shantaram. He had seen Jitendra closely on the sets of the film ‘Sahara’ (1963). At that time Jitendra was working as a junior artist. The director was astonished to see that a Punjabi boy could speak brilliant Marathi. After this, V Shantaram cast Jitendra as a lead actor in the film ‘Geet Gaya Patharon Ne’. This film came in the year 1964. In this film, Jitendra’s pair was frozen with director V Shantaram’s daughter Rajshree.

Actor Jitendra himself shared this anecdote related to Rajesh Khanna during a TV reality show. Remembering Rajesh Khanna, Jitendra had said, ‘The contribution made by Kaka to the industry is commendable. He loved dramatic things. In college, he used to take part in many dramas or plays. Rajesh Khanna helped me a lot when I stepped into films and V Shantaram called me for the first screen test. After spending the whole day in the canteen of Jai Hind College, Rajesh Khanna had me rote the dialogues. It was he who told me what to say and how to speak in the screen test. It was amazing that Rajesh Khanna’s training was given that Jitendra was selected for ‘Geet Gaya Patharon Ne’.
