Birmingham: Tokyo Olympics silver medalist wrestler Ravi Kumar Dahiya has won the gold medal at the Birmingham Commonwealth Games. In the final, he overcame his Nigerian rival Abikevenimo Velsen 10–0 on technical superiority. Ravi was looking in excellent form in the 57 kg weight category. Earlier, he defeated Suraj Singh of New Zealand and Asad Ali of Pakistan on the basis of technical superiority.

Ravi Dahiya confirmed his silver medal by defeating Asad Ali of Pakistan. Ravi Dahiya defeated Asad Ali 14-4. It took him only 1 minute 14 seconds to defeat Suraj Singh.

Indian wrestlers
India has won seven medals including three gold in wrestling. Yesterday i.e. on August 5, Bajrang Poonia, Deepak Poonia and Sakshi Malik won the gold medal, while Anshu Malik won the silver. Mohit Grewal, Divya Kakran won the bronze medal yesterday, while today Pooja Gehlot also managed to win the bronze.
