No Shooting In CWG (No Shooting In CWG)
Indian fans may have to control their hopes this time as the country’s overall medal tally will be affected due to the exclusion of shooting and archery. India had won 66 medals in the previous edition of the Commonwealth Games held in Gold Coast, Australia, and shooting contributed to 16 of them, including seven of the 26 gold medals India won. Hope to compensate India from these games…

1-Shocking expectation in athletics
Weightlifting, badminton, wrestling and table tennis are expected to have a lot of medals but they may not be able to make up for the shortfall in medal count due to the absence of shooting. In athletics, India has won only 28 medals in the event’s 72-year history and this time the country is expected to be on a tight leash, but Olympic champion Neeraj Chopra has been dealt a blow at the last minute due to injury.

2-Here are all 12 contenders
A lot of medals are expected in wrestling. Medal hopes are high from all the 12 contestants, with defending champions Vinesh Phogat and Bajrang Punia hoping for gold. Wrestlers won 12 medals, including five golds, in the Gold Coast.

3-Weightlifters are also strong
In weightlifting as well, nine medals including five gold came four years ago and they would also like to repeat the same performance. The team will be led by Olympic silver medalist Mirabai Chanu. Here India can expect more medals.

4- shuttlers will also increase medals
Badminton players, led by superstar PV Sindhu, are expected to win medals in women’s singles, men’s singles, men’s doubles and mixed team events. The other stars in the team are World Championship medalists Kidambi Srikanth and Lakshya Sen.

5- Will return to hockey
Hockey will be the most important sport from India’s point of view and the men and women players will be trying to make up for the disappointment of the last Gold Coast stage in which they returned home empty handed. After a historic bronze medal performance at the Tokyo Olympics last year, the Indian men’s team will look to end Australia’s dominance while the women’s team will also try hard to finish in the top three.

Challenge even in 6-TT
In table tennis, India finished first in the medal tally by winning eight medals in the Gold Coast, out of which four medals went to Manika Batra alone. While it will be difficult to match that performance, there is still hope for at least two gold medals. India’s veteran Achant Sharath Kamal will take part in his fifth and final Commonwealth Games and would like to replicate the singles gold he won 16 years ago.

7- There are many stars in boxing
Boxing had won nine medals in the last round and will make a big contribution to the medal tally this time too. While Amit Panghal will be desperate to put aside a disappointing Tokyo Olympics campaign, Olympic bronze medalist Lovlina Borgohain will be looking to bounce back from a World Championships disappointment. All eyes will be on the performance of current world champion Nikhat Zareen.

8-Non Olympic Games
Squash will be looking for their first medal in singles at the non-Olympic Games. There are chances of two gold medals in mixed doubles and women’s doubles.
Strong claim in cricket: Women’s T20 cricket has been included in these sports for the first time and the Indian team led by Harmanpreet Kaur will be among the medal contenders.

Performance at CWG 2018
In the 2018 Commonwealth Games in Gold Coast, India won a total of 66 medals, including 26 gold, 20 silver and 20 bronze medals. The country will participate in 16 different sports in the 2022 Commonwealth Games to be held in Birmingham.

Most successful 2010 for India, won 101 medals (India Best CWG)
The most successful Commonwealth Games for India happened when they hosted the event in New Delhi in 2010. Indian athletes won 101 medals on the domestic circuit, which included 38 gold, 27 silver and 36 bronze medals.

These games including shooting also disappeared
Besides shooting and archery, other sports that are missing from the sports program in Birmingham are artistic swimming, basketball (5×5), bowling, fencing, rowing and water polo.

Australia dominates here, will the hosts be able to compete
Australia is expected to dominate the Games and medals table as it has done in the past several editions. He has won 2,419 medals at the Commonwealth Games, which began as the British Empire Games in 1930 and is expected to add another 200 medals to the number. Hosts England will hope to take advantage of the home conditions and take on Australia. Canada and South Africa will also be expecting the Gold Coast to improve their performance.
