Indian team’s young batsman Shreyas Iyer has completed one thousand runs in ODIs. He made his debut in 2017 against Sri Lanka. Iyer has been a regular part of the team after the 2019 World Cup. Iyer, playing the 28th match, completed one thousand runs in the 25th innings. He has come jointly at number two in the list of the fastest Indian batsmen to score 1000 runs in ODIs. Virat Kohli and Shikhar Dhawan did this in 24 innings. Navjot Singh Sidhu took 25 innings equal to Iyer.
Pooran took a wonderful catch
Shreyas Iyer was batting in rhythm. He tried to increase the run-rate after scoring his 10th ODI half-century. Gudkesh Moti tries to hit the ball over the cover for a four. He also put a shot but there, Nicosal Pooran, who was fielding there, jumped in the air with one hand and caught the ball. Iyer could not believe his eyes but had to return to the pavilion.
West Indies return
West Indies bowlers made a great comeback in the last over. When Shreyas Iyer returned to the pavilion, India’s score was 230 runs in 35.5 overs. The team looked to reach 350 runs easily. Indian batsmen could only score 77 runs in the last 14 overs. West Indies bowlers did not give any batsman a chance to play freely.
