Bangladesh opener Tamim Iqbal suddenly announced his retirement from the T20 format after a stellar performance on the West Indies tour. Tamim informed about this by posting a post on social media, in which he said, ‘From today onwards I should be considered as retired from T20 format’. Tamim had a strong batting in the ODI series against West Indies, due to which he was also named Player of the Series.
In fact, 33-year-old Tamim is having a long rift with the Bangladesh Cricket Board. He believes that the board is not looking at my future in T20. I get information from the media about my place in the T20 team. In such a situation, I want that someone else should get a chance in my place in the upcoming T20 World Cup.

England all-rounder Ben Stokes announced his retirement from the format soon after the three-match ODI series against India. Stokes told that he will not take the field further in ODIs. However, he will continue to play in T20 and Test formats.
